Your health information and HIPAA

As a healthcare provider, The Skin Clinic is required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) to protect the privacy of your health information. Our Notice of Privacy Practices describes how medical information about you may be used and disclosed, your rights to see and get a copy of your records, to ask for corrections, and to request limits on how your information is shared, and how to file a complaint. You can ask for a copy of the Notice at any of our four locations.

Information this website collects

When you browse this site, our hosting provider may record standard technical information such as your browser type, device, pages visited and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to keep the site running, secure and working well. We do not sell it.

If you message us through Klara, our secure messaging service, we receive the details you choose to share and use them only to respond to you.

Cookies and browser storage

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It saves one small setting in your browser’s session storage so the opening animation plays only once per visit; it is cleared when you close the tab. Outside services you choose to use from this site, such as secure messaging (Klara), the patient portal, online bill pay and maps, may set their own cookies under their own policies.

Please do not send detailed medical information through email or general web forms. For questions about your care, use the patient portal or call your location.

Children’s privacy

This website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children through it. A parent or guardian should contact us on a child’s behalf.

Nondiscrimination and language assistance

The Skin Clinic does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex. Free language assistance, auxiliary aids and sign language interpreters are available on request. Please tell us when you book.
